Bearing Much Fruit
Scripture
John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Reflection
In John 15, Jesus teaches His disciples and all believers that He is the only source of spiritual and productive life. It is through a personal and continuous connection with Him that believers are nourished and sustained to live a life that is pleasing to God. As our source of salvation, abundant life and eternal life, He supplies all of the essential elements and nutrients required for godly living. He declares that He is the vine and believers are the branches. As the true vine, He is the sole source of nourishment and protection for the branches. And the fruit that they produce is a direct result of their staying connected to the vine. To bear much (and abundance of) fruit we must literally dwell, live and walk in Christ each day. But the key is that you and I must stay connected to Christ, “The Vine” at all times. Because without Him, we can do nothing.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You alone are my source for salvation, abundant life and eternal life. You are my true Vine and I desire to remain connected to You all the days of my life and to bear much fruit.. Everything that I need in this life, I find in You. Because without You I can do nothing. In Jesus Name, Amen!
