Because Jesus Intercedes for Us, We stand
Scripture: John 17:9-10, Romans 8:34
John 17:9-10
“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them.
Romans 8:34
“It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”
Reflection
Jesus is our eternal Savior and Lord who gave His loves us so much that He gave His life to save us from our sins. He is the exalted Son of God who is our Savior, Mediator, High Priest, Intercessor and more. As your Intercessor He Prays to the Father continually on your behalf for your needs and concerns just as He did in John 17:9-10. As a disciple of His, He claims you as His own and presents you before the Father perpetually and is glorified in you. And because He died and was raised from the dead, He is highly exalted above all things and God the Father has placed all things under His feet. God has given Jesus a seat at His right hand where He perpetually prays and literally stands in the gap for all believers day and night. Because Jesus Intercedes for us, we stand.
Oh, what love He has for us.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I thank you for your love and care for me and all believers. It is mind blowing to think that you pray to the Father for my weaknesses, needs and concerns continually. I understand more clearly now than ever before that when I struggle in life, it is You that delivers and enables me to stand again and fulfill my calling and purpose until you call me from labor to reward. Thank You, Lord! Glory to Your Name! Amen!
