Ignition!

Scripture

Matthew 28:18-20

18And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Reflection

In the last 21 days, you have come before God in prayer and fasting in earnest, seeking His face for repentance, clarity, guidance, direction and a fresh anointing in your life. This has been a period of spiritual preparation by God for the next phase of your life and the Kingdom assignments and experiences that He has planned for you. For you to accomplish these things, you must receive “ignition” from the Holy Spirit to activate you forward in faith with a new sense of purpose and passion in your life and ministry. When NASA designs and builds a new rocket to launch into a space mission, years of planning, preparation and practice are spent by hundreds of engineers to build and test every system of the rocket and spacecraft to ensure the success of every phase of the mission. Many failures and setbacks occur and are remediated during the path to lift off. But all of those efforts and challenges lead to a single phase on the launch pad called “Ignition” that sparks a massive combustion that thrusts and propels the rocket, its boosters and the capsule through the atmosphere and stratosphere toward its destination.

As Jesus made final preparation for His death, burial and resurrection, He called His disciples to “Ignition” through the great commission. He thrust them into action by igniting a fire in them to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” This was divine activation and empowerment, by His mighty power for them to spread the Gospel to every person, baptizing them, teaching them and making disciples of them. Beloved, you and I are ignited and anointed to make disciples by preaching and teaching the Gospel. We must “Go”, meet people where they are, witness to them of His mighty power to save and walk with them as they are transformed into His likeness and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Let’s Go!

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you for laying down Your life and shedding Your precious blood to save me from my sins and give me everlasting life. I am humbled and excited the You have ignited and anointed me to share Your glorious gospel to each person that I meet that they might also come to know You as their Savior and Lord through the confession and repentance of their sins to You. Thank You Jesus for Your great commission and ignition that activates my faith and witness for You. Help me to win many souls. Amen!
