Day 20, January 28, 2022

All the Way!

Transforming Truth from God’s Word

Are you willing to go ‘all the way’ with Jesus to complete the assignments that He gives to you?

Have you decided that you will follow Him, live for Him and obey Him ‘all the way’ to eternal life? This is a very important decision because it impacts the choices you will make in days ahead. Making the decision to go ‘all the way’ is a ‘whatever it takes’ commitment to Jesus Christ. The song that captures this thought is:

I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus, I have decided to follow Jesus, No turning back, No turning back…

There will be times in this life where you will be tested, tempted, tried, and tormented. Yes, you and I will suffer tribulations that will test our very soul and resolve to go ‘all the way’ with Jesus. But when these times come, anchor your faith in Him alone and remember that He went ‘all the way’ to the cross just for you. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He anguished as His disciples slept as:

” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” (Matthew 26:39)

At this critical moment and other times during His path to the cross He could have detoured or prevented His death, but He chose to go ‘all the way’ in obedience to His Father’s will. In doing so, He shed His blood and died which washed away your sins and mine. He who loves you went ‘all the way’ to save you from your sins, to give you everlasting life and even life more abundantly in this life.

Will you resolve to go ‘all the way’ with Jesus?

A Psalm for Today

Psalm 18:13

“I love you, O Lord, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.”

God’s Promises for Today

John 19:28-30

Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put it on a hyssop branch, and held it up to his lips. When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
