Day 3 – 1/7/2020

All the Way

ScriptureMatthew 26:39 – He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.

Are you willing to go ‘all the way’ with Jesus and to complete the assignments that He gives to you? Have you decided that you will follow Him, live for Him and obey Him ‘all the way’ to eternal life? This is a very important decision because it impacts the choices you will make in days ahead. Making the decision to go ‘all the way’ is a ‘whatever it takes’ commitment to Jesus Christ. The song that captures this thought is:

I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus, No turning back, No turning back…

There will be times in this life where you will be tested, tempted, tried and tormented. Yes, you and I will suffer tribulations that will test your very soul and resolve to go ‘all the way’ with Jesus. But when these times come, anchor your faith in Him alone and remember that He went ‘all the way’ to the cross just for you. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He anguished as His disciples slept as: He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” (Matthew 26:39)

At this critical moment and other times during His path to the cross He could have detoured or prevented His death, but He chose to go ‘all the way’ in obedience to His Father’s will. In doing so, He shed His blood
and died which washed away your sins and mine. His love went ‘all the way’ to save you from your sins, to give you everlasting life and even life more abundantly in this life. Make your decision to go ‘all the way’ with Jesus and with His strength, you will make it.

It’s Time to Pray: Lord Jesus, I have decided to go ‘all the way’ with you. Strengthen my faith in you alone so that noting in this life will deter me from following and serving You. Amen!

  1. MONROE COLBERT says:

Also through going all the way a great comfort is that he never leaves or forsakes you, and promises to go all the way first for you and now and forever with you. What joy and peace that accompanies your going ALL THE WAY.

    • Mark Collier says:

Going all the way for Jesus is the path least traveled but the path of true righteousness. I am so grateful for His ultimate sacrifice for us.

  2. Mark Collier says:

Going all the way for Jesus is the path less travelled but the only path of true righteousness. Jesus paid the ultimate price and I am so very grateful for his sacrafice.
