UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS!

NCAA Football: CFP National Championship-Georgia vs Alabama Transforming Truth from God’s Word

Watching the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs compete in the college football national championship game was a reminder of all that is required to be an UNDISPUTED CHAMPION. Both teams came into the game with only one loss from a challenging season greatly impacted by COVID-19 and other factors. However, only the Georgia Bulldogs emerged from the game as the UNDISPUTED CHAMPION of college football.

UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS are rare in any sport or field in life. Think about how difficult it is to compete against competitors for an entire season and be considered a winner by competitors and fans. UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS are not perfect, in fact they may have numerous imperfections. But these champions are known as champions for their ability to work hard, stay focused on winning, stick together, overcome adversity, persevere through troubled times and pursue victory with diligence.

In this life we face many challenges that are far beyond our natural ability to overcome them. Additionally, you have a formidable opponent in the devil who hates you and is constantly devising plans and schemes to defeat you by keeping you in a state of discouragement and despair. As we experience these things, it is critical to fight the good fight of faith by declaring God’s Word to gain victory. There is no dispute that on the third day, God the Father raised His only begotten Son Jesus from the dead. In doing so, He conquered death, hell and the grave. Jesus, the risen Christ, is the ULTIMATE UNDISPUTED CHAMPION!

Will you serve Him?

Romans 8:37

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

A Psalm for Today

Psalm 118:14-16

The Lord makes me powerful and strong; he has saved me. Listen to the glad shouts of victory in the tents of God’s people: “The Lord’s mighty power has done it!
His power has brought us victory—his mighty power in battle!”

God’s Promises for Today

1 Corinthians 15:57

But thanks be to God, who give us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

A LOVE Supreme!

Wheaton Bible Church on Twitter: "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1-2

Transforming Truth from God’s Word

The great jazz saxophonist, John Coltrane arranged, composed, and released an album in 1965 entitled: “A Love Supreme.” When released, it received overwhelming acclaim from music critics, musicians and music lovers around the world. Listening to the compositions, it is clear that Mr. Coltrane was divinely inspired as he and fellow musicians expressed with musical excellence an essence of the highest form of love that is beyond human comprehension or description in words. John, the Apostle captures the essence of the great love that God has for us in 1 John 3:1. He challenges the reader to see or behold (observe carefully) the great love that God the Father has lavished (bestowed) upon us, in such great measure that He claims us as His own children. His great love for us is with a limitless, unending, full of grace and mercy, yet just and righteous. The Greeks referred to God’s great love for people as ‘agape’ (incomparable, sacrificial, unconditional love).

Yes, in spite of our many sins, infirmities, character flaws and failures, God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life. Know that nothing and no one can separate you from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Now that, my friends, is a Love Supreme!

1 John 3:1
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.

A Psalm for Today

Psalm 145:8

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

God’s Promises for Today

Romans 8:38-39
For I am presuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, That whoever believes in Him shoud not perish but have everlasting life.

RESILIENCE: Real Bounce-back-ability!

Business Resilience | McKinsey & Company

Transforming Truth from God’s Word

Resilience is defined as one’s ability to rebound or come back from challenges or difficulties in life. Some people refer to it as bounce-back-ability. However, these definitions of resilience make the assumption that we possess the ability to be resilient in our own strength. Not so! We are not sufficient in and of ourselves. Only through receiving and living in God’s power and His process can a person move from surviving life’s struggles to thriving in the abundant life that Jesus has promised us.

In Romans 5, Apostle Paul writes that believers should rejoice and count it an honor (for Christ’s sake) when we are dealing with difficulties, pain and suffering. This is because we are at peace with (or reconciled to) God through Jesus Christ or Lord. Jesus provides access to God’s abundant and sufficient grace that enables us to stand, endure and even thrive in times of adversity. And in these seasons, He matures us spiritually by using our sufferings (tribulation) to produce perseverance, character and hope. Now Hope does not disappoint because God literally pours out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Wow! That’s Real Bounce-back-Ability!!!

Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

A Psalm for Today

Psalm 27:13-14

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!

God’s Promises for Today

John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

RENEWING Your Strength!

Isaiah 40:29-31 – Linda's Bible StudyTransforming Truth from God’s Word

By many accounts, we are living through the most unprecedented times in history. For most people, life has been completely disrupted, dizzying and turned upside down during this season of pandemic, natural disasters, loss of life, racial divisiveness, social revolution, political rancor and economic uncertainty. One common characteristic of these unprecedented times is that no person or family has been able to escape at full strength. Dealing with the challenges of each day can drain a large amount of energy and strength just to survive. The central question that each of us must answer is: what is the source of my strength and how can I renew my strength. In Isaiah 40, the Prophet Isaiah declares that God is the source of strength for His people. To each person who trusts in Him, He provides power to a person who is weak; and He gives strength to a person who is powerless — even young people are not immune to this. But Isaiah declares that the key to regaining lost strength is to “wait on the Lord.” Wait with patient expectation…wait I say on the Lord! Know that HE alone will renew your strength! Wait on Him, He is on the way!

As the glorious song of praise and worship by Richard Smallwood says: “YOU are the source of my strength, YOU are the strength of my life, I lift my hands in total praise to YOU!” Later, Christian artist Fred Hammond sang: “They that Wait.”

Isaiah 40:29-31

He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

A Psalm for Today

Psalm 18:1-2

I will love You, O Lord, my strength.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

God’s Promises for Today

Psalm 18:32

It is God who arms me with strength,
And makes my way perfect.

REPOSITIONED for Victory!

July 27 - 365 Day BibleTransforming Truth from God’s Word

When enemy nations came together to make war against Judah. The Spirit of the LORD spoke through His prophet Jahaziel to assure King Jehoshaphat that HE was with them and would protect His people, Judah. The LORD GOD had and unconventional plan for defeating the enemies of His people. HE essentially instructed Jehoshaphat to re-position the people of Judah, stand still and witness the Lord defeat their enemies before their very eyes.  He further instructed them not to be afraid or distressed and to go out and face their enemies the next day and that HE would be with them. The LORD assured His people of victory over their formidable enemies without drawing a weapon.

Just as with King Jehoshaphat and His people of Judah,  God desires you and I to draw faith, assurance and courage to trust Him and His Word in every circumstance of life, in every battle, we must know that the spiritual battle is far greater that the physical. When faced with impossible odds, we must know that God will fight each battle for us and He will always give us Victory though our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Chronicles 20:17

You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”

A Psalm for Today

Psalm 20:1-2, 4-5

In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry.
May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm.
May He send you help from His sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem.
May He grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.

May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God.
May the Lord answer all your prayers.

God’s Promises for Today

1 Corinthians 15:55-58

“O Death, where is your sting O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

REPURPOSED for His Purpose

Transforming Truth from God’s Word

God had a plan and purpose in mind for each of us when we were conceived in our mother’s womb. Throughout our lives, we will experience many thing including disappointments, hardships, trials, and tribulations. But through them, our God is at work in us, through us, and for us to fulfill HIS purpose. He uses every experience good, bad, or ugly for HIS glory and for our good. He repurposes you through it all in advance of HIS use of you.

Will you trust Him to repurpose you for HIS use in this season?

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

A Psalm for Today

Psalm 138:8

“The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of Your hands.”

God’s Promises for Today

Proverbs 19:21

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

REASSEMBLING: The Potter Wants to Put You Back Together Again!

Transforming Truth from God’s Word

God is reassembling His people in this season. He desires to heal you and make you whole. He will then develop and use you to help restore others. Will you place yourself in the hands of the Potter today and be made whole?

Jeremiah 18: 1-3

The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, “Go down to the potter’s shop, and I will speak to you there.” So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over.

A Psalm for Today

Psalm 34: 17-20 The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. For the Lord protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!

God’s Promises for Today

Isaiah 57:18-19 “I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners, creating praise on their lips. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the LORD. “And I will heal them.”

Isaiah 38:16-17 “You restored me to health and let me live. Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back.”
